Service Description
Art classes are about meeting new people, making friends, sharing ideas, experiences, listening and telling good stories, sharing recipes, expanding possibilities and your vision of the world. Handbuilding is an ancient pottery-making technique that involves creating forms without a pottery wheel, using the hands, fingers, and simple tools. The most common handbuilding techniques are pinch pottery, coil building, and slab building. Handbuilding techniques allow for a wide range of creativity. About the process: Depending on the piece you decide to make, you may need more than one class to finish the first phase of the handbuilding process. After the piece is finished, and after it dries properly, it will be fired for the first time so your art will be ready to be painted. After painting, the piece will be once again fired. Price include glazes and the firing. There will be a $10 minimum charge for the clay. For bigger pieces, the price may be increased accordingly. * If our schedule does not suit your needs, give us a call so we can make arrangements for you.
